Use your run speed increase either right before or the second that you aggro anything...they will drop aggro after you've run enough...I know, it's annoying.

wow, lucky...im having bad luck with drops. only 1 ecto over about 7 runs, earning more than i pay to get in though

Yes, it's annoying how Axates always kill you when you re-cast illusion of haste. Once axates followed me all the way past the first mob of smites until they finally killed me and went back.

Some monsters follow you until they do something to you. Once when I was a Shiverpeak Chest runner, Mesmer mobs followed me all the way, it doesnt matters to them that I used any running skills or not, they had the same speed. When I stopped, the mob casted Empathy on me, turned back, and joined to his team.

For some odd reason I started to laugh when I read that.

But back to topic: What armor is preferred for this? Energy or Armor+10 While Holding an Item?

Btw. Yes, +10 armor is preferred, maybe +health.

Personally, I use +energy armor (Halycon's) and have no problems at all. In fact, after just a little bit of practice I dropped the self-heal (I used Mend Body and Soul) in favor of Channeling so that I could use Vengeful Weapon more often. (In other words, even without +armor or +health I can afford to drop the big self-heal.)

It's tricky... from the stairway opposite the one that you use for 55ing, you run up with +speed on, and aggro 1 grasping. Our little friend there will take his mob with you. DO NOT use VwK immediately. Give them like 3 seconds or so to waste Distracting Blow (you can just watch for when their tentacles glow) and then cast. I realize this seems rather difficult to do since they scatter, but SV/AV should be easily maintained (hey, if I can do it with an R/Me then you can do it with a rit).

Whatever you do, don't pull them all. Just 1 mob at a time (yes, you will have to watch their aggro patterns to find out which ones are in each mob). Any more than 1 mob and you have a pretty good chance of dying. If all else fails, illusion of haste to the spirits (only really can do this if there's just 1-2 remaining). You *can* body block them, it's just extremely difficult (you have to be facing the grasp, and then he's facing you, but right behind the spirit. Usually this isn't reliable, I can pull it off maybe 6 times out of 10).

Yep havent done this in a while...used to be sweet money b4 the update! Kinda is still ok but id ranther farm Grenths Footprint with my Warrior...

But i might give it ago soon as i havet been there ina while so i might get lucky!

Hello, just wanted to ask, post-nerf, how many smites do you guys aggro at a time?

Do you guys ever combine groups, or just take them in the groups of 3-5 that they naturally come in?

To Arielle: combining groups doesnt work post-nerf, 1 grp at a time, which means 3-5 smites.

Imo this is one of the best builds ive come accross

To date ive gotten about 70 ectos or so from it. Ty dahnel for putting me on the road to my fow armor :-D

ps. i dont just use it for UW, works great in many a place
